Mantar, Meshuggah & The Halo Effect
On Thursday, the 21 March 2024, the Metropole venue in Lausanne hosted Meshuggah with The Halo Effect and Mantar as support acts.
We began the evening with Mantar, featuring a lineup of two persons: a guitarist/singer accompanied by a drummer. It was a simple but effective setup. At first glance, one might think they were lacking instruments for producing metal, but that couldn’t be further from the truth! These two musicians took the Métropole hall by storm with their sludge metal sound. However, their performance was cut short to make way for The Halo Effect, a melodic death metal band. It was truly a pleasure to witness them live.
The final act of the evening was Meshuggah, who commenced with a lengthy intro accompanied by flickering light panels, with the band members positioned prominently at the front of the stage. We were treated to spotlights in every direction and of various colors, making for an exceptional light show, especially for a band like Meshuggah, whose concerts are typically quite dark. Just before 11 pm, the concert drew to a close, prompting all the fans to depart the venue, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see these bands again soon.
