Miasma

Miasma

Miasma was born in 2004 in a basement in Banco (Ticino), when Andy (drums) and Viz (guitar) decided to play together. After a few days, Curzio (guitar) joined them, and in early 2005, Fabio (bass) also joined. After several months without a singer, Alex joined them. On May 13, 2006, they performed for the first time in Altdorf, Canton Uri, along with two other Swiss Death Metal bands. Since then, they have participated in many concerts throughout Switzerland and various important events. To name just a few:

- UndergrindfreakFest in Zug with Viral Load and Devourment
- Mountains of Death in Muotathal with Immolation, Severe Torture, and Dying Fetus
- HellvetiaDay in Sursee with Carnal Decay

Miasma was formed in 2004 when Andy (drums) and Viz (guitar) decided to play together. After several months, Curzio joined as the second guitarist, followed by Fabio on bass a few months later. After writing numerous songs and rehearsing extensively, they were joined by Alex, who was about to leave Cerberos but was drawn to Miasma's sick riffs and drumming, joining them in February 2006. Three months later, they played their first concert, not in their hometown of Lugano but in Altdorf, Canton Uri. From then on, they began writing new material and honing their brutal sound. It seemed people liked their music, as they started playing many concerts around Switzerland, including the prestigious "Mountains of Death," the intense "Undergrind Freak Fest," and the fan-driven "Hellvetia Day."

In 2006, they recorded their first EP, "Human Bloody Mary," featuring songs like "Mr. Sniper," "Dr. Gore," "Rotten Love," "Torture Bind Kill," and "Crispy Kids." Following their return from Mountains of Death, Fabio decided to leave Miasma. After a few months of auditions, they found Nimai as their new bassist. However, they faced another challenge when Curzio had to leave the band. During this time, they recorded another EP featuring two songs, "Kill Fuck Die" and "Stabbing the Emo to Death." Despite having only one guitarist, they continued to deliver energetic performances. However, six months later, due to differences with Nimai, they decided to part ways with him, leaving them without a bassist once again.

In 2008, with no bassist but an album ready to be recorded, they took matters into their own hands and recorded in their small studio, hosted by Tato from Redrum Records. Thanks to him, they saved money, had the flexibility to record anytime, and focused on finding new members. In March 2009, Luca joined as the new guitarist and played his first concert with them at the Vans Music Night in Lugano. A few months later, Daniel joined as the new bassist. However, a year later, due to personal differences, they had to let go of Luca. Despite this setback, they continued working on new material and welcomed Francisco as their second guitarist.

They've played with bands such as Immolation (US), Dying Fetus (US), Gorgasm (US), Severe Torture, Avulsed (Spain), Degrade, Crepitation (UK), Defeated Insanity (Germany), Malignant Tomour (Czech Republic), Blockheads (France), Jig-Ai (Belgium), and many others.
