About Plekvetica

We are a Swiss metal magazine that focuses on concert photos, interviews and videos, among other things. Since it was founded in 2014, the goal has been to push the metal and rock scene in Switzerland and offer interesting content. Above all, we want to communicate visually and with “new” media. In the event calendar, fans, organizers and bands can enter events and discover new events and bands.

    How the project came alive

The logo after 2015 till now

The foundation stone of the Metal Magazin was laid in November 2014 by Dänu and Marc. The project “Plekvetica”, which pursued the goal of offering reviews and news in video form around rock and metal, was born.

Shortly thereafter, Dänu received the first accreditation (permission for photography) for the concert with Hammerfall, Serious Black and Orden Ogan at Z7. As a passionate photographer, he immediately tasted blood and this was the beginning of countless concert photos on Plekvetica.

The News survived for a total of three episodes. The format was then discontinued because it was disproportionate in terms of effort and the fast pace of news. The CD reviews were continued, in which we disassembled the CDs both musically and visually. The OnTour videos were added relatively early on. We have created videos with the written concert reports. These then became the festival reports after a few episodes and focused exclusively on festivals like Greenfield and Meh-Suff.

On Friday, March 13th, 2015, Plekvetica launched the third video format. The interviews. Just like with the photos, we didn’t exactly start small… With the then new singer of “The Agonist”, Vicky Psarakis. Followed by Chrigel Glanzmann, the lead singer of Eluveitie.

Many videos and photos later, Cveti has joined our team. She is fluent in English and was originally brought on board for the English interviews. Later she was also in front of the camera for OnTour or Special Videos.

In 2017, not only a decent website was realized with the current website, but also a small restructuring was carried out which led to a clearer and faster website.

The reviews have been put on hold in 2020 so the focus can be fully on the interviews and concert photos. Our direction was also defined more clearly. We want to focus on event calendars, concert photos & interviews in the future.

In January 2018 there was a major change. We have expanded, or rather doubled, our team. Zoé will support us in the future by moderating and translating the interviews, Solti is responsible for live and CD reviews, as well as the website, and Eric is helping to cope with the ever-growing mountain of videos.

In 2019 we were able to win a new interview host with Jamin. He has interviewed Amaranthe, Sabaton, Desaster, among others.

And then Corona came. We used this time as a chance and made many adjustments to the website, especially in the background, but also created some interviews and special videos. This is how, for example, the top 10 videos were created, in which we chosen the top Swiss bands of the respective genres. We were also able to win Meh Suff and the Met Bar as partners. After the concerts started again, we got new photographers to join our team.

After five years at Greenfield it was time to talk about a partnership. This also worked and we were able to raffle tickets and successfully promote each other.

2024 will be our 10th anniversary! Of course we have something special planned for you…
