Lorna Shore, Whitechapel & Shadow of Intent
Since Lorna Shore played for the first time at TUSKA 2023 they scaled up their production, their fanbase and they made sure that a stop or two in Finland is on the tour schedule. This time we got an awesome support package, with two U.S and one Swedish performer.

Shortly after leaving the train, I found myself in the queue to the venue. In front of me were two young guys, just in a T-shirt and metal vest… Reminded me of myself, a few decades ago… Anyhow. It was my first time in Logomo, therefore, let’s talk about the location. It featured multiple entrances and exits, many seating possibilities, multiple bars, and even a restaurant. The merch stands were conveniently located between the two main doors and featured around four designs per band and many other goodies. I usually buy a shirt after I have seen the performance and if they did a good job.
Speaking of bands. It was a packed lineup, in terms of quality and quantity. Humanity’s Last Breath was the first in line and managed to accumulate a decent crowd, maybe half of the capacity of the sold-out evening. Thirty minutes of Swedish Deathcore/Djent gave us the opportunity to get used to the heavy use of strobe lights during this evening. After a short break, my first personal highlight was about to come.
Shadow Of Intent. A band I wanted to see for years and they did not disappoint. After the first song, we also got informed that this was the last stop of the tour and they do not want to waste time talking. Appreciated. The setlist contained seven songs, almost all of them from the 2025 record “Imperium Delirium.” Towards the end, we got reminded how many songs were left. Not enough to fulfill my thirst for this one, that’s for sure. The band delivered a solid performance and the audience responded with a small circle pit and some crowd surfers. I would love to see them as a headliner. It was not as loud or intense as I hoped for, but still, I enjoyed every minute of it. I used the opportunity of the changeover to head to the merch area to get a shirt from the band. It set me back 40€ and made me think… Was merch always so expensive?
At 19:40, the next band entered the stage and it felt like getting hit by a train. Whitechapel was its name and they cranked it up quite a bit, in terms of speed and strobe lights. So much strobe, in fact, that you could not see the band members at all for most of the time. Also, the security doubled compared to the previous show and they needed all hands on deck. It was the band’s first time in Finland and the performer as well as the audience left a good first impression.
A little more than an hour later, Lorna Shore started with “Oblivion” and a decent amount of fire. With the second song “Unbreakable,” the pit opened for the photographers and Will Ramos’s request for crowdsurfers received many fans. It was war! The stage changed for the headliner and was covered in LED screens, which had stunning visuals perfectly synced to every song. In the middle of the stage, and approximately three meters higher than the rest of the band, was the drummer located. Will was talkative as always and shared how much he loves to play in this country. The setlist was a good mix between the latest two albums with the new stuff first, and the classics like Pain Remains I-II at the end. For the encore, we got “To the Hellfire” and so much pyro, that you actually felt like in the Hellfire. It was just an amazing performance and there were hardly any breaks for your senses. Videos on screens, fire, and double bass like machine gun fire, there was so much going on, and still, it did not feel overwhelming.
All in all, an amazing package in a great location and well organized by TuskaLive. Only the public transport put a dent in the otherwise perfect evening. After 9 PM, there is basically no way to get out of the city by train.
