Am 1. Juni 2012 durften wir die Met Bar in Lenzburg AG feierlich übernehmen.

Die Met Bar wird ehrenamtlich als Non-Profit-Organisation geführt. Wir haben uns weit über die Landesgrenzen hinaus einen hohen Bekanntheitsgrad als Location für Metal – und Rockkonzerte erarbeitet.

Wir fördern die Musikszene und bieten dabei sowohl etablierten Künstlern als auch Nachwuchsbands die Möglichkeit, live zu spielen.
Internationale Grössen wie Circle To Circle (USA), Ektomorf (HUN), Dr. Living Dead! (SWE), Pro Pain (USA), Suicidal Angels (GRC) – um nur einige zu nennen – durften wir in den letzten Jahren ebenfalls auf unserer Bühne begrüssen. In unserem Club wurden zudem unzählige Live Videos gedreht. Unter anderem auch jenes zum Song «Let There Be Night (POWERWOLF Cover)» von Kissin` Dynamite DE. Nicht zu vergessen, die unzähligen Platten, die auf unserer Bühne getauft wurden. Sämtliche Highlights der letzten Jahre aufzuzählen, würde den Rahmen sprengen!

Die Met Bar ist aber auch ein Zufluchtsort für alle, die genug von der populären Szene haben und sich gerne von «härterer» Musik verwöhnen lassen möchten sowie den Umgang und Austausch mit Gleichgesinnten schätzen. Zu erschwinglichen Preisen kann man sich hier von einem vielseitigen Programm überraschen lassen, welches von Mittelalter Musik über Akustik Rock bis hin zu Death Metal reicht. Nebst Livemusik ist die Bar für ihr grosses Angebot an süssem Honigwein in verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen bekannt. Daher stammt auch der Name «Met Bar».

Zu unserem 10 Jahre Jubiläum haben wir uns für unsere Gäste – und natürlich für uns selbst  – etwas ganz Besonderes einfallen lassen. Wir feiern mit einem Jahr Verspätung, dafür mit umso grösserer Freude und einem fetten Programm.

We are celebrating 10 years of «Freunde der Met-Bar”

When: Friday, June 30th & Saturday, July 1st, 2023

The “Met-Bar” in Lenzburg has a long history. When the previous owner decided to close the bar and concert venue and move onto other adventures, a group of former guests started to speak about taking over his legacy. As taking it over as a business was not feasible, they formed the organization “Freunde der Met-Bar” (friends of Met-Bar).

On June 1st, 2012, they officially re-opened the Met-Bar under the new leadership, keeping the old name in memory to its history.

The Met-Bar founded as a non-profit organization has not only become one of the biggest names in Switzerland as a metal and rock concert venue, but has also become increasingly known internationally.

The main goal was to give young local bands a possibility to make their first steps on stage and to perform next to established performers; a mindset we maintained. International acts like “Circle to Circle” (US), “Ektomorf” (HUN), “Dr. Living Dead!” (SWE), “Pro Pain” (US) and “Suicidal Angels” (GR) – just to name a few – have performed on our stage. Our location with its unique interior was home of music videos numerous times, like «Let There Be Night (POWERWOLF Cover)» of Kissin’ Dynamite just to name an example. We celebrated countless release parties of new albums and can look back on many highlights.

The Met-Bar is a safe haven for people with an open mindset to music and creates a space for a respectful engagement with all cultural groups. As non-profit we keep the ticket prices as low as possible and commit to show all genres from medieval, classic and unplugged rock, Death and Black Metal to Hardcore. Our drink selection also shares its part of our diversity. We not only serve the standard selection, but have specialized in mead in various flavors, hence our name “Met-Bar”.

With some delay due to well-known factors we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year. As we wanted to make this event very special, we are packing it all into a two day program.
